In
the summer of 2002 a hedgehog had her litter of hoglets
under the shrubbery in the bottom left of the picture. I
decided that I would build a 'hedgehog-house' for the upcoming
winter, and sited it under the conifer shown at the back
of the garden. |
I
built the home from an upturned plastic box, much like the design
shown in the HHhomes link in the list shown on the right. I placed
somes leaves in it from the old 'nest' in the shrubbery, and put
some peanuts outside, and waited..
Two
nights later the hedgehogs moved into the new 'house' - first
one then two, and finally three decided to set up home in the
new house.
Shortly
after I set up a 'wireless' infra-red (night viewing) video camera
in the vicinity of the 'house', and some of the results can be
seen on the following page.
