It
is very important to provide clean, fresh water for the
hedgehogs. They should not be given cows' milk as they cannot
digest it very well, and drinking it could well lead to
diarrhoea. The picture shows a mother Hog and various aged
siblings. The one in the bottom left is enjoying the fresh
water. |
If
ever I have been late in putting out the peanuts the 'hogs' are
usually to be found gathering at the front door, 'waiting' for
dinner. Although they are still independant, and will forage for
a great distance, they do like their nightly 'treat' of peanuts
and, of course, fresh water.
