Mother and female hoglet

Hedgehogs belong to an ancient family. They have survived because of their great ability to adapt to changing circumstances and because they have few natural enemies. But the threat of modern civilization may prove too much for them so I do all I can to help, and they in their turn help keep my garden interesting and free from pests.

In this, and the next few pages I will try to show you some of the family of hedgehogs that have settled in my garden. Hopefully you will be able to share in some of the enjoyment that I have in watching these fascinating creatures.

I have not aimed to provide care instructions on these pages as there are a great number of resources readily available. I have provided some links to web-sites that I have used, and they can be found in the list on the right. If you want to contact me please click on the 'mailto:amgard' link, in the list.

Any of the pictures on these pages can be clicked to show a higher resolution image.
